I agree, Dr. Kirsch.

It's almost like the best thing that could happen to Democrats and the President is for the bill to fail. Then they could come back with more modest, bipartisan proposals. If they succeed at getting this through like this, it's not going to be pretty in November.

It's not just the process, but the substance of the pending bills that have generated so much public angst. Most recent AP poll shows that 43% oppose current HCR proposals and 41% support. Most folks don't like the bill. The various stakeholders you outlined are often in direct competition for control and $$$. Do you expect any of them to fall on their sword to serve the greater good? If the reconciliation process goes through, and the New & Improved health care system doesn't deliver on cost or performance, then this will rightly be a political issue for the next several elections. www.MDWhistleblower.blogspot.com
